Leadership Alignment in Supervision

A behavioral approach to values, context, and supervisory action

About This Event

Supervisors may delay feedback, difficult conversations, or decisions when those actions are likely to produce immediate discomfort. Although delay may provide short-term relief, it can also prolong performance concerns and disrupt team workflow. This presentation uses behavior-analytic concepts to examine the contingencies that maintain supervisory avoidance and to identify feasible alternatives. Participants will use the Ethical Leadership Alignment Assessment as a guided reflection tool to consider four domains: values clarity, psychological flexibility, systems alignment, and behavioral follow-through. Through behavior-analytic supervision examples and live discussion, they will examine variables that may maintain delayed feedback or assistance seeking, identify a feasible supervisory response, and plan how to monitor follow-through. The session focuses on applying these concepts to timely feedback, professional modeling, and effective supervisory relationships.

Allyson Mullins is the founder of Behavioral Wellness Coaching, LLC, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). With more than 15 years of experience in applied behavior analysis and nearly a decade in clinical and operational leadership, she has supported children, families, clinicians, and leadership teams across a variety of service settings. Her work brings together behavior analysis, Organizational Behavior Management, and evidence-based coaching to help leaders and organizations create systems that support ethical decision-making, values-aligned action, high-quality care, and sustainable performance. Drawing from extensive leadership experience, Allyson is passionate about moving beyond reactive approaches to burnout and helping people examine the environmental conditions that shape behavior—both within organizations and in their own lives. Her professional interests include sustainable leadership, clinician burnout, behavioral systems analysis, leadership development, psychological flexibility, caregiver engagement, and the use of leading indicators to improve organizational quality. Through speaking, training, consulting, and coaching, Allyson equips leaders and organizations with practical, behavior-analytic strategies that make meaningful and sustainable behavior change more likely.
