Set up event emails
OpenCEU sends a confirmation and a post-event follow-up automatically. You choose whether reminders go out too.
Open Emails from your checklist
Open your event, then click Emails in the checklist.

Turn reminders on or off
Check or uncheck 1 Week Before, 24 Hours Before, and 30 Minutes Before. The confirmation email and the post-event follow-up cannot be turned off. The follow-up sends when you approve the recording quiz, not on a timer.

Save the schedule
Click Save Schedule.
Customize an email, if you want
Click Customize next to any email. Edit the Subject and the body with the formatting toolbar, or click View HTML to edit the raw code. Insert variables like {{event_title}} or {{registrant_name}} anywhere in the text.
Click Save Template when you are done.

Reset to the default, if needed
Once you have customized an email, a small reset icon appears next to it. Click it to discard your changes and go back to OpenCEU’s default wording.
Conditional content
{{#zoom_link}}...{{/zoom_link}}. That block only shows if the event has a link set, so you don’t have to worry about a blank line appearing. If you move the event

Speaker reminders
Below the attendee emails is a Speaker reminders card. When you add a speaker, OpenCEU emails them a calendar invite for their green-room time (15 minutes before the start) and reminders 1 week, 24 hours, and 1 hour before. These emails only cover when to arrive, the green-room link, and which email to sign in with, plus one-click Google, Outlook, and Apple calendar buttons. Move the event and speakers get an updated invite. Remove a speaker and their invite is cancelled. Speakers get their invite when the event is published, not while it is still a draft. A speaker with several sessions on the same day gets one invite and one 1-week and one 24-hour reminder covering all of them. The 1-hour reminder groups sessions that start within two hours of the first one in the group, so later sessions still get their own.
Uncheck Send speaker reminders to stop them. Pick an email and click Send test to me to see exactly what speakers get. While it is off, reminders that come due are skipped (not sent later) and speakers you add get no invite. The test goes only to your own email. Speaker emails use OpenCEU’s wording and can’t be customized. For a conference session, this setting lives on the conference page instead.
Everyone on your team also gets a calendar invite for each session you publish: the green-room time, when it goes live, the green-room link, and a link back to the event. Several sessions on the same day arrive as one email. Move a session and your team gets an updated invite; delete it and the invite is cancelled. If a teammate is also a speaker on a session, they get the speaker invite for that one instead. The Send speaker reminders setting doesn’t affect these team invites.
