Feeding skills develop in a fairly predictable order, and a lot of feeding programs skip steps in it. Genevive Covington walks through how chewing, texture acceptance, self-feeding, and mealtime behavior develop in early childhood. The session covers how to tell a developmental feeding pattern from a clinical concern, how development should shape feeding assessment and goal selection, and when to bring in another discipline.
