My recording upload failed
A failed upload or a failed processing run is fixed by uploading again. Here is what to check first.
Read the error message
Go to your event’s Recording page. An upload that failed to send shows an error where the upload progress was. A file that uploaded but failed to process shows a message that processing failed last time.
Check your file type
OpenCEU accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, and MKV files. If your file is a different format, convert it before uploading again.
Check your connection
A large video file needs a stable connection for the whole upload. If your connection dropped partway through, that is the most common cause of a failed upload. Try again on a stable connection, ideally wired or strong Wi-Fi rather than a mobile hotspot.
Upload again
Click Try again, or if the dropzone shows again, choose your video and upload it the same way as before. A retry fully replaces the failed attempt.
Re-uploading is always the fix
Give processing time to finish
Processing takes roughly real time, so a 60-minute video takes roughly an hour to convert, transcribe, and draft a quiz. This is normal and does not mean anything failed. Watch the progress tracker on the Recording page.
If it fails again
If the same file fails to process a second time, contact support with your event link and the file format and size. Very large or unusual files may need help on the processing side.
