Sell sponsor packages for a conference

Instead of invoicing sponsors, put your sponsorship packages online. Sponsors pay you through your connected Stripe account, you get an email with their details and their team's free-registration code, and you add their logo and link on your Sponsors page.

Create your sponsor options

On your conference page, find the Sponsor options card on the right and click Set up sponsor options. Make as many options as you like and name them anything; they aren’t ranked. For each one, set:

  • Name and price, plus an optional description of what’s included.
  • How many to sell. Leave it blank for unlimited, or enter 1 for an option that sells only once (a title sponsor, for example).
  • Comp seats per sale — free registrations the sponsor gets for their team. Each sale gets its own code, and it’s also how the sponsor’s reps get into the live room.
  • Placements — tick what the option includes. OpenCEU managed placements (the conference page, the break screen between sessions, the certificate email) are shown and counted by OpenCEU. Sponsors who share a placement split it evenly: with four sponsors on the break screen, each gets a quarter. For things you run yourself, like a 10-minute lunch sponsor slot, create a Host managed placement, add it to an option, and tick it off once it’s done.
2

Share the sponsor link

Once your conference is published, sponsors buy at /conference/your-link/sponsor. The page shows each option and what it includes, and marks sold-out options clearly (an option whose last spot is in someone’s open checkout shows as temporarily held). Test conferences can’t sell sponsorships, and sales close once the last session has ended. Two buyers can never get the last spot, or a placement that only one sponsor can have.

You're the seller

Payments go straight to your connected Stripe account. OpenCEU takes no fee on sponsorships. Refunds are done from your Stripe dashboard.

Add the sponsor's logo and link

When a sponsor pays, your organization’s admins get an email with the package, the amount, the buyer’s name, email and company, and the comp-seat code for their team. Reply to it to reach the buyer. The sponsor sees a thank-you page saying you’ll be in touch; sponsors have no login or page of their own.

Get their logo, website link and tagline, then open your Sponsors page. The new sponsor is listed as Waiting for logo and link. Click edit, upload the logo and enter the https:// link. The placements they bought switch on as soon as both are in. Until then they don’t appear anywhere. Send them the comp code yourself (it’s on the Sponsors page too, with how many seats are used).

Track sales

The purchases list shows every buyer, what they paid, whether their logo and link are in, and how many comp seats they’ve used, with a delivered box for each placement you run yourself. Each sale also appears on your Sponsors page, where you can adjust placements and order like any other sponsor. Impression counts are client-reported (counted by viewers’ browsers), so treat them as estimates; clicks and certificate-email sends are recorded by OpenCEU. If you refund a sponsor in Stripe, their placements turn off, their comp code stops working, and the spot goes back on sale.
