About This Event
Many Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA®) require training to set goals, provide feedback, prompt, and adhere to policies with supervisees. Behavioral Skills Training (BST) is an effective procedure to train staff. A baseline consisting description of these skills, a lecture, and a reinforcement contingency for supervision was compared to BST. During Experiment 1, adherence to supervision policies improved across baseline, and BST led to improvements for the other skills; however, participants required additional training to meet mastery criteria. In Experiment 2, the order of the trainings and the feedback workshop were modified, and similar results were observed, but participants did not require additional training to meet mastery criteria. The discussion calls for extending the findings to provide support for a comprehensive training for the supervision of supervisees and suggests a takeaway tool that can benefit supervisors.
